Location Heriot's Hospital, now George Heriot's School, is in Lauriston Place, immediately to the west of Greyfriars' Churchyard. The gate in this picture can still be seen today, though I have never seen it open. |

The Painting This picture appears on a WR&S postcard, probably from the early 1900s. It is based on a painting by GBH, whose initials appear near the bottom-left corner of the postcard. I have not yet discovered who GBH was. |
