The cemetery lies to the east of Easter Road.

The entrance is at Drum Terrace.

Gravestones

The gravestone nearest the camera in this photo is to John Gold and some members of his family.  John is the grandfather of Connie Telfer-Smith, one of the contributors to the EdinPhoto web site.

Connie grew up at  Easter Road, Edinburgh, and now lives in Norfolk Island, in the South Pacific, between Australia and New Zealand.

I took this photo on a fine, warm, sunny day in March 2012.  Here is another photo of the grave that I took on the same day.

The gravestones in this photo are near the northern boundary wall of Eastern Cemetery.

Tenements

The tenements in the background of this photo, beyond the cemetery boundary wall, with the large window and gable feature above the central doors, were built in 1924.

They are, from left to right:

-  1 St Clair Place

-  3 St Clair Place

-  14+16 St Clair Street

-  18 St Clair Street

centre of this photo, beyond the cemetery boundary wall, are Nos. 2, 4 ,6 on the west side of St Clair Place.  They would have been built, perhaps, in the late 19th century.

Another Photo

Here is another photo that includes the same gravestone:
