View from the Radical Road

View to the North

This photograph was taken on Christmas Eve, 2010 from the Radical Road that runs beneath Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park.

It looks down from the Radical Road (seen in the foreground of the photo) to the multi-storey flats at Dumbiedykes, built to replace the old tenements demolished in the 1960s.

The Firth of Forth, and the hills of Fife can be seen at the top of this photo.

Landmarks, just below the Firth of Forth include:

LEFT:  clock tower of the Balmoral Hotel at the East End of Princes Street.

CENTRE:  Nelson Monument on Calton Hill.

RIGHT:  Platinum Point and other high flats at Leith.
