Edinburgh's Floral Clocks

Princes Street Gardens

A Floral Clock is planted in Edinburgh during the summer months each year.  The first was planted in 1903.  The idea has been copied by many other cities around the world.

This photo was taken on July 22, 2011, soon after the planting of the floral clock had been completed.

I was disappointed to see that the flowers surrounding the clock did not look, to me, to be very healthy when I photographed the clock on July 22, 2011.  Let's hope they look better in another month's time.

The flowers around the clock looked healthy last year.
