Drylaw Primary School

"The second photo above is of the same class, one year later, at Drylaw Primary School.

At first, there wasn’t a Primary School for the new Council Estate at Drylaw, so we started at Flora’s, then moved on to Drylaw.

Drylaw soon became too small, so Groathill was built for the Wester Drylaw children.

Two Primary Schools

Thank you for your explanation of how the class moved from one school to the other.  That was helpful.  I'd not have been able to work it out for myself!

They appear to have had larger classes in the 1950s that we've become accustomed to now.  There are 39 children in the first photo and 43 in the second photo above.
