This view looks to the east along Princes Street with lots of trams, a couple of buses and some cars.

Binns Department Store is on the left and St John's Church is on the right..  The buildings on the skyline are:

-  Nelson Monument on Calton Hill.

-  Tower of the North British Hotel.

-  Scott Monument

I don't know the publisher of this post card.  I have only seen the front of the card.  Looking at the back of this card might reveal who the publisher was and /or when the card is likely to have been published.

The traffic in this view suggests to me that this photo might have been taken around 1950.
