William Barry, son of George Barry, brewer, produced enamelled cartes de visite in the 1870s.  He gave up his photography in favour of his painting in the 1880s.  He appeared in the trade directories as:

In 1876, he advertised:

Thank you to Barbara M (whose maternal grandmother was William Barry's great niece) for telling me more about the Barry family.

William Barry

"Regarding William snr., he is a younger brother of Patrick Barry who was known for his writing and published ten books between 1868 and 1906.

I am putting together family details beginning with their 3 x great grandfather born in 1711.  I have included siblings of their 2 x great grandfather and would like to obtain copy photos of any of William's paintings.

Were you aware that after he moved to Inverness he climbed Ben Nevis 3 times after age of 56?

WJC Barry

Son, WJC Barry had 3 sons, William, George, and James Hume Adams.
