Edinburgh Addresses

Postcards

The two postcards above do not give an address for Durie Brown & Co.  However I have seen:

-  a post card of the Royal Visit on 18 September 1905,  giving the addresses:   135 and 106 Princes Street.

-  a postcard, posted 1908, giving the address:  63 Princes Street.

Pen

I was interested to receive an e-mail from David L Moak, Jackson, Mississippi, USA, giving yet another address for Durie Brown.

David wrote:

101 Princes Street

"I noticed your listing for Durie Brown.  I have a gold-filled Mabie Todd & Co. Swan fountain pen.

The box it is in, which is original, has a sticker which indicates that it was sold by Durie Brown and that their address was 101 Princes Street at the time.

The pen would have been made sometime after 1915."

Pot

Thank you to Ian Brooks, Oxfordshire, who e-mailed me in July 2006 to tell me about a crested ware pot bearing the inscription 'Durie Brown & Co, Princes Street, Edinburgh' on its base.

Clock

Thank you to Allen Salowe, USA, who told me about another Durie Brown item.  Allen wrote:

"I have a round wood case 7-day clock with Durie Brown & Co. 106 Princes Street, Edinburgh on the face. I brought it back from Edinburgh to the USA on my lap."
