Glencorse Station

The line to Glencorse

Glencorse lies near the town of Penicuik, about 8 miles to the south of the centre of Edinburgh.

The railway to Glencorse ran through the coal mining area to the south of Edinburgh.

Stations on this line were:

-  Waverley

-  Portobello

-  Niddrie

-  Millerhill

-  Gilmerton

-  Loanhead

-  Roslin

-  Glencorse

Glencorse Station, just beyond the viaduct over Glencorse Burn was the end of the line for passengers, though the railway ran beyond the station to Penicuik Gasworks and Eastfield Colliery.
