      Dates and Attendances 
      Edinburgh Evening News reported these results from the recently published
      City of Edinburgh Council Edinburgh Council Survey. The 
      results show some significant increases in attendances for 2010, compared 
      to 2009, including a surprisingly high increase for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 
      if the figures in this table are to be believed.

      NOTE  I could not reconcile the TOTAL as published in the 
      table in the Evening 
      News article.  It gave totals of: 5,486,354 (very close) and 
      4,402,251 (Where did that come from?) 
      I think the 2009 total may include 
      figures for 'The Gathering', part of Scotland's Year of Homecoming (not 
      listed in the table above. 
      So I have calculated my own totals for the table above. |        |
