Thank you to Frank Ferri for sending me a copy of this Kirknewton Airmans Club programme from the 1960s. It's good to see that this has survived for almost fifty years. Frank's band was 'The Jokers'. They listed on June 19. There was also a different band, based in Glasgow, named 'The Jokers'. They played at Kirkliston Air Base 7 days earlier, on June 12, 2011. Frank tells me that he believes both these dates would have been Saturdays. |

1965 Usin the Search for Ancestors web site, we find that the only year in the 1960s that had a 'Friday August 27' was 1965, so the Kirkliston Air Base programme above must have been for 1965. Peter Stubbs, Edinburgh: January 30, 2011 |
