The photographer's name is handwritten on this card. Perhaps he was not in business long enough to justify having cards printed. I have found no mention of him in the Edinburgh & Leith trade directories. Please e-mail me if you know where his studio was and when he was in business. This carte de visite looks to me as if it may have been produced in the 1880s or 1890s. The only McLauchlan photographer that I have found listed in the Edinburgh & Leith Trade Directories is James McLauchlan who was based at 21, Promenade, Portobello from 1925 until 1938. |
