EdinPhoto Web Site

Cookies and Stats

This site, www.edinphoto.org.uk, is a personal web site that I have been updating since 2001.  The site does not display any adverts.  The purpose of the site is to share my interests, not to sell anything!

In order to learn more about how the site is used:

(a) I have been subscribing to the MatrixStats program from FastHosts (my web site host) and

(b)  I started today to use Google Analytics.  The results look interesting, but I have not yet managed to reconcile the results from Google Analytics with those from Matrixstats. 

These programs tell me which countries the EdinPhoto viewers come from, how long their visits last and which pages they view, BUT they  do not tell me the identity of any viewers.

I do not pass on any info from MatrixStats or Google Analytics to third parties for advertising or any other purpose, but where I think the info may be of interest to EdinPhoto viewers, I compile pages and add them to the EdinPhoto web site. e.g.Top 40 pages and Which Countries did the EdinPhoto viewers come from?

Matrixstats

Fasthosts tell me that data collected by their Matrixstats system is date, time, IP address for visits to the EdinPhoto site (but no personal details); also country, operating system and browser used.  Fasthosts tell me that more info can be found in their Matrixstats User Manual pages.
