A Selection of Events

The events  listed below are just a few of the many events held in Edinburgh each year.  They include some of the events that I have attended and/or photographed in recent years.

Edinburgh now has several festivals throughout the year.  These usually take place around the same time each year.  They are and are well advertised in the press and on the internet.

Adult Education Programme

Edinburgh Council

Edinburgh Council - Adult Education Programme ©

This is the cover of an 18-page Program of Edinburgh Council's Adult Education classes.  The Council offers a wide range of courses throughout the year.

Further details can be found on the Edinburgh Council web site.

For 2013, I chose one of the 5-week courses of walks around Edinburgh, the  course titled: "Walks: Aspects of Edinburgh", led by Graeme Cruickshank.  Graeme has personally researched the areas covered by his walks so has been able to provide some interesting background information about the places visited.

Here are three photos taken in the Royal Mile, the destination of the first of the five walks:

Experience Seminars

for Canon Digital EOS Cameras

©

Experience Seminars offer training for users of Canon Digital EOS cameras.   Most of the training is provided at the company's Training Centre near Huntingdon, north of London, but the company is also visiting Edinburgh to provide training in April and November 2013.  Training DVDs are also sold.

Seminar details can be found on the Experience-Seminars web site.

Having recently acquired a Canon EOS D6 camera, I was pleased to be able to attend two days of training in Edinburgh last weekend.   I found the event to be very worthwhile. with a lot of practical advice being offered on the use of the EOS cameras.

Here are are two photos that I took during the event.  Please click on them to enlarge them.

-  a photo of the instructor, Ian McNeil, as he stood in front of the projector with images projected onto his top.

-  a photo of some of the 15 participants on the course, armed with their Canon EOS cameras and cups of Costa coffee.
