Plans for Development

Forth Ports Authority have announced a £2bn draft
plan for the a 15-year development of their 170-hectacre docks site at
Western Harbour, Leith.
The proposals, will be the open to public
consultations for a few months from September 04. They include:
- a cruise liner terminal for the world's
largest cruising ships
- a ferry to Fife and water taxis around
the harbour
- a up to 18,000 homes, shops, bars,
restaurants and schools
- an extension of the Ocean Terminal
Shopping Centre
- an art gallery or museum, craft workshops
and a heritage centre
- a new entertainment complex, a new public
square and a park.
