Doors Open Day

Saturday-Sunday 24-25 September 2011

Edinburgh Doors Open Day

Doors Open Days give people access, free of charge, to buildings that are not normally open to the public.

The event is held annually in Edinburgh, during one of the weekends in  September.  For the past 21 years, it has been organized by the Cockburn Association.

The 2011 event is the largest yet, with 79 venues listed in the Cockburn Association's brochure and more to be added to the programme via the Cockburn Association's web site and Facebook pages..  The theme of Doors Open Day, 2011 is 'Sport'.

Addresses and opening times for the buildings, together with brief background and architectural details are available:

- in a brochure published by the Cockburn Association, Trunk's Close,  55 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1SR.

Copies of this brochure are also available from Edinburgh libraries before the event and from participating buildings on the weekend of the event..

- on this page in the Cockburn Association's web site, which also gives further information about Doors Open Day in Edinburgh and similar events elsewhere.
