After the Tsunami
Photographs by
Kate Gillan
Kate Gillan, formerly of the Edinburgh
Evening News, became Diago Young Photographer of the Year
at the UK Picture Awards, 2004.
As a result, she received the Alan Harper
Bursary. This funded a photographic project in which she
documented the work of Merci Corps, an international relief
development organisation, in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, two of the
countries that were hit by the Tsunami on 26 December 2004.
There are 32 framed colour photos in the
exhibition, showing scenes from the aftermath of the disaster and
portraits of some of those involved. |
