Harry Benson was born in Glasgow, Scotland.  He started his career as a wedding photographer, but went on to become a renowned photo-journalist.

The exhibition includes the Beatles arriving at JFK Airport in 1964, the Reagans dancing at the White House and a portrait of Michael Jackson framed by two child mannequins.

Commenting on his exhibition, the National Galleries of Scotland wrote:

"Harry Benson, the renowned photojournalist has the knack of being in the right place at the right time - a skill that has endured for the past fifty years"

"He has photographed every US President since Eisenhower, was just feet away from Bobby Kennedy the night he was shot, and in the room with Richard Nixon when he resigned.
