Keith took photographs of Edinburgh and other Scottish cities around
1853-56
This
exhibition consists of thirty modern prints made from his negatives,
mostly printed from negatives in the Hurd bequest.
Thomas
Keith is renowned for taking topographical photographs in superb lighting
conditions, using his camera with 17 ins lens.
He
gave up photography in 1857, to concentrate on his work as a surgeon. Sponsored
