Here is an appealing albumen print by Valentine. It features paddle steamers on the Clyde at Glasgow. It was taken in 1882. This was one of many photographs taken by Valentine around Scotland in the late 19th century. Some of these photos were later used on Valentine postcards. In the late 19th and early 20th century, trips 'down the Clyde' from the centre of Glasgow were very popular with Glaswegians. |
