The title of the picture above is 'The Daylight Fireworks. I have not seen the back of this postcard so do not know who the photographer or publisher was. Whoever it was, the photographer appears to have created this postcard from many images - several decades before it became possible to create rather more subtle results digitally. This card was sent to Canada in 1911. It would have been sold during the Exhibition, which was held at Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow from May 3 until November 4, 1911. The exhibition attracted 9.4m visitors. |
