Museum Excavations
This view
looks from Chamber Street across the excavation site for the Museum of
Scotland. In the background are:
- John Donald & Co, China, Glass and Earthenware merchants at
Bristo Port (still there now, 2006) and
- the former North Free Church, at the junction of North Bridge,
Bristo Place and Forrest Road, now the Bedlam Theatre, owned by Edinburgh
University and run by students. |
Museum Opened 1998
The Museum
of Scotland opened in Chamber Street, next door to the Royal Museum of
Scotland, in 1998. The two museums are linked together internally.
The museum of Scotland is dedicated to the history, people and culture
of Scotland. |
