The
caption to the photo says that the load is a 45,000 kVA
transformer for the National Grid leaving the works on its
300-mile journey to Edinburgh.
Bruce Peebles' works
were at East Pilton, Edinburgh, about 2 miles NW of the centre of
Edinburgh. I don't know what route it took. The direct
road from Edinburgh to Huddersfield in Yorkshire is just over 200
miles. |
