Buttercup Poultry
Farm
Thank you
to Bill Scott for allowing me to reproduce the photograph above of six
'Buttercup Girls', poultry assistants at Buttercup Poultry Farm,
standing in front of one of the henhouses, in August 1935.
Bill was
born in 1949 at East Lodge, Buttercup Poultry Farm. Bill
tells me that the Buttercup Girl standing on the far right in this
photo is his mother, Annie Davidson. The photo was taken when she
was fifteen. |
Here is a
view of part of the farm and some of the farm buildings.

Buttercup Poultry Farm sold their produce
through their chain of Buttercup Dairy Co shops in and around
Edinburgh. At one time the farm had a daily output of 110,000 eggs.
