Douglas wrote:

Bainfield Bowling Club

"I am the Club Secretary of Bainfield Bowling Club, Hutchison Crossway Edinburgh and a great friends for 30+ years of the Club Treasurer, Peter Stewart.

Peter and I were looking at the EdinPhoto site when, to my astonishment,  he asked if I recognised anyone in this photo.

It turned out that he was in the photo, in the same class as my sister Margaret Garry.  After all this time, he and I had a connection that we didn't know about.  How weird is that?"

Visitor from Australia

"Five weeks ago I had an email from a Alistair Rankin who plays bowls in Australia, asking if he could come to our Bainfield Club and have a few games.

I believe that this is the Alistair Rankin who has contacted you on your site re 61 Gorgie Road, the same stair where Gorgie Farm is now.  61 Gorgie Road is where Ian Hardie and I lived."
