The Photo

"Recently I came across some old family photographs.  Here is one of them, a photo  of the Edinburgh Harmonica Band, taken probably around 1940.

The Band

"My granddad, John McLaren (second row far left), played the harmonica and also played the accordion in the band.

From searching online, I've found that the band started in 1935 and continued until 1999.  I know that  my grandfather used to be out performing a lot as my mother grew up so the band must have been reasonably popular.

I wonder if anyone might be able to tell me anything more about this photo and the band.
