Fire Brigade
"As a young boy, I was in love with the idea
of becoming a firefighter - so much that I started cycling to fires etc
and taking pics.
I
got to know a lot about Lothian & Borders Fire Brigade, and a lot of
the firefighters. But I grew up and discovered the world kind of
pushing my interest to one side, along with the hundreds of photos I
had taken,
Line Rescue Team
"This photo is of the Tollcross firefighters
who were part of the special 'Line Rescue' team. The team was
relatively new, and was on exercise at Salisbury Crags, when this photo
was taken in 1998. The teams have since gone on to save many
people.
Tollcross and Newcraighall were the only two
stations that had these teams.
The purpose of these
teams was to rescue folk trapped on Arthur's Seat, Salisbury Crags, Castle
Rock, etc.
