Mid-1950s

"Here is a photo that, I think was taken about the mid-1950s .  It shows the regulars from the Ne'rgate Pub, down at the foot of the High Street.  (This pub has been the World's End' for many years now.

The regulars went somewhere on a but trip, once a year.

The owner of the pub was Johnny Rowley.  He is in the fifth row from the front, second right.  My dad,  Adam Rafferty is in the fourth row, extreme right.

Maybe some other readers might recognize  some other folk."

Destination

"I have no idea who took this photo or indeed where it was taken,  All I know is that the regulars would go on a 'drive' every year.

I'm sure it was the September weekend, and there was always a 'box' player on the bus.
