Thank you to Margaret Johnston (née Slattery) for sending this photo to me.

Margaret lived in Keir Street with her parents and eight siblings for thirteen years.  She emigrated to Australia with her husband in 1967.

Margaret wrote:

"This photo was taken around 1952.  It is of the Slattery family in the Meadows, Edinburgh,  making an ad for shredded wheat.

There are left to right:

-  my dad, John, playing pipes.

-  my sisters, May and Patricia, myself, my brother Gerald

-  my brother, John, also playing pipes

-  my mum, May with my sister Josephine in her arms

-  my brother Michael."
