"My parents and several generations of  my grandparents lived around St. James Square.

The photo was taken, probably at St James' Square, around 1935.  Amongst the many children from the St James Square area in  this photo, is:

St James Square was housing near the East End of Princes Street, behind Register House, and immediately to the west of Leith Street.

This area was demolished and redeveloped as the Saint James' Centre Government Offices, hotel and shopping complex in the 1970s.
