Railway Picnic "This photo was taken in on a railway picnic outing from St Margaret's Railway in 1947, when I was seven years old. I think the photo would have been taken in Peebles, but I can't be sure. That's where we used to go on railway functions. My mother, Catherine (Kate) Hastie, is standing second-left at the back. My brother, Jim, 9 years old, is standing in front of her. I'm bottom right, sitting on the grass, looking sorry for myself, holding a stick and being threaten by the boxer beside me."
