Cars
Here is detail from a photo that I believe was taken around 1958 to
show the newly installed street lighting in George Street. However I
found the line-up of cars along the centre of the cobbled street to be
interesting.
If you know what model the car with the unusual radiator in the centre
of this picture is,
please email me. Thank you.

Here, we zoom-out to see more of George Street - and
more cars parked in the centre of the street.

"The car with the unusual radiator seen parked
in George Street is a late 1930s Triumph Dolomite, either the 14/60 or the
16 Saloon.
The radiator was designed by a Walter
Belgrove. The car name was of course revived for a later Triumph
model. It was probably not cheap According to Wikipedia, the model
was aimed at the 'luxury sporting saloon market'."

"The
car in this photo, Reg No. CGA 111, is a Triumph Dolomite 4-door
saloon, manufactured between 1937 and 1940."

Thank you to George T Smith for also confirming that the car with the
streamlined radiator in this photo is a Triumph Dolomite

I tried a Google Images search for "Triumph Dolomite Roadster" and it
brought up a good selection of
photos of this model, and a few miscellaneous photos of other cars |

"I think the car in question is a Triumph

when I was a lad."
