Accident
Thank you to Edinburgh City
Archives for allowing me to reproduce this photo from their Edinburgh
Street Lighting Collection.
This accident happened in
Marchmont Road. I've not yet discovered exactly where it was in
Marchmont Road. ** The
tread on the front nearside tyre looks rather warn.
There is no photographer's
name on this photo; just a brief message

Response to Alan's Comments
Thanks
Alan. Having looked again at the photo, I agree. That's not
how I remember Marchmont Road.
I took the
location from the note written in ink on the back of both photos of this
accident in the Edinburgh City Archive collection, but I think some
further investigation is now needed.
I've had a
quick look on the scran site on the
internet, but have not found any reference to the accident there.

I'd take a detour via Inverleith Row just to satisfy my curiosity - maybe

Thank you to Forbes Wilson for sending me an image from Google Street
View. This leaves it beyond doubt that the photo was taken on the
west side of Inverleith Row, close to the Royal Botanic Garden.

Inverleith Row. I know it well from my daily trips down to Granton."

I've reproduced below the original photograph of the accident, followed
by the Google street view. I've rarely seen Inverleith Row with so
little traffic.

Might it be Arboretum House on

Yes
Yes Joan. It certainly is Inverleith Row, close to the Royal Botanic
Garden.
I cannot remember the house names, but I'll check next time I pass
them.
