For
many years, there were two events which brought together British
photographers:

The
Photographic Convention of the United Kingdom was held annually, being
hosted in a different town each year. The Convention was held in Edinburgh
in 1892.

Photographic
Congresses of the Professional Photographic Association. These
were usually held in London, coinciding with a major Photographic
Fair and including a visit to a Professional Photographic Works.
Reports
of Conventions and Congresses appeared in the British Journal of
Photography. These reports usually included a photograph of all the delegates. In some years (but
unfortunately not in 1892) there was a key to the photograph naming
