The Photographic Society of Great Britain met monthly from about October to June each year.  An edition of The Photogrpahic Journal was published in each of these months.

Content

The first edition each year included all entries in the Society's Annual Exhibition, held at 5a, Pall Mall, East.

Subsequent editions each year included some long technical papers on the chemistry and optics of photography.  Capt. W de W Abney was a regular contributor.

Early Discoveries

In the 1876-1885 editions of The Photographic Journal, I found only occasional references to Edinburgh or elsewhere in Scotland.

However, In 1884, The Photographic Journal published two tables of "Discoveries Regarding Action of Light".
