46 Brunswick Road
"My grandparents, Sally and
Bob White, lived in the ground flat at 46 Brunswick Road for 70
years, until 2006! Sally worked in the bakers
opposite. Her sister Nan (Hewat) also lived in No.46.
Their children,
Bobby and James White, James, Catherine & Billy
Hewat all grew up there.
Did anyone know the Whites or the Hewats?"
Shops
"I remember playing
in the 'back green' which had an air raid shelter. I also remember Miele's
the chip shop and Lang's the Butcher."

Family
"Hi to Elaine Walker
(above).
I was born in August 1940
and lived at No.45 Brunswick Road until 1962.
My Dad was an engine driver and I was the envy of the other
kids as I got to ride on the footplate in the marshalling yards behind
Brunswick Road."
Friends
"I have many happy
memories, especially with James White who lived at No.
46. In fact, we
went to his parents' house to watch the
Coronation in 1953; this on the smallest
screen ever made! James and Catherine
Heat were also very close friends.
I'd love to hear from any other kids who were
around at my time. Best wishes to:
-
all who attended Leith Walk
School and Broughton
School.
-
those in the 155 Waverley Cubs. ( Kirk
Memorial Church)."
