World War II
The Pentlands
"During
World War II, Guides and Brownies from the Currie and
Balerno area were involved in collecting sphagnum moss for
dressings on the Pentlands.
There
are a couple of photos of it on the
scran website, which I
believe were taken by photographers from 'The
Scotsman' newspaper around
1940.
Unfortunately we don’t have any details of it
in Currie Guiding Records."
