Jim Suddon recalls

Transport

"The man who lived downstairs from me, Mr Grimwade, worked for years with Shades, delivering the potatoes from a fine green lorry which was always spick and span.

The word 'Kramo' was on the side also, as this was some sort of telegraphic address system used in those days.

In the early 1950s, I was often out with him and his mate in the lorry, and was able to see behind the scenes of some of the hotels and restaurants as he delivered the bags of potatoes to them.  Health and safety would not allow that today.
