My Great Grandfather, William McKinley, apparently had a tattoo parlour in Leith after the war. Unfortunately, my info is very limited as most of the elder members of the family are now gone. I believe that the tattoo parlour was called Abelins or Abelones and my Mum thinks it was at the "fit 'o the walk". I do hope you may be able to offer some info or point me in the right direction." If you remember anything about this tattoo parlour or where it was, please email me, then I'll pass your comments on to Frank. Thank you. - Peter Stubbs: May 19, 2008 |

Tattoo Parlour "I have a vague recollection of a tattoo parlour in the Kirkgate just round the corner from Woollies." Bob Henderson, Burdiehouse, Edinburgh: May 20, 2008 |
Recent Years Yes, there has been a tattoo parlour in Constitution Street, just round the corner from Woolworths, in recent years. It is very close to the foot of Leith Walk. I don't know whether or not it has any connection with the tattoo parlour that Louise speaks of above. - Peter Stubbs: May 20, 2008 |

Tattoo Parlour "There was a tattoo shop in Jane Street, Leith in the 1960s. The tattoo artist's name was Jimmy Todd. I got my first tattoo there. Later on, he moved to Gordon Street, Leith - just across the road." Reg McCaw, Portobello, Edinburgh: July 19, 2012 |
