Looking for a School Photo
"On
my last trip back to Edinburgh, I visited my first school, Lorne
Street, I got talking to the janitor.
I asked him if the piece
of sandstone, where I used to sharpen my slate pencil, was still
sticking out of the wall around the play area, and we managed to
find it.
I could not try it out,
as I had no slate pencil with me. Does anyone remember when
we used slate boards?"
