"I
was a pupil at Melville College (Edinburgh Institution as it then
was) and still have vivid memories of
Ferryfield.
In
1935/36, I was forced to play rugby and
other sports there, much against my will!
There was no getting out
of it, as my brother and I boarded with
the then Headmaster, Mr N K
Barber, in Dean Terrace and we were herded down to
Ferryfield as a group."
