Edinburgh Recollections Trams |
North Bridge |
Thank you to Eric Gold, East End, known to many as Eric McKenzie, London, who wrote: |
"I remember, as a wee laddie, traveling on the trams from Princes Street to Newington as Vincent Cappola, son of the Cappola's Café people, in Arthur Street was a conductor on them. The seats, I think, were wooden and I nearly slipped of the seat when we turned in to the North Bridge from Princess Street. He gave me his hat and I ran around the tram like a conductor. It was a great shame to see the trams finish in Edinburgh in the Coronation year of 1950s." |
