Stella's Hotel & Domestic
Agency
"I wonder if anyone remembers Stella's
hotel & domestic agency at the corner of
Melville Street and Queensferry Street.
I often went to her
for a job placement. She took half your
first week's wages if she placed you.
All her records were kept in an old ledger.
She had a pen and inkwell, and she kept wiping the pen nib on her
black cardigan."

End Hotel. I think it was in Palmerston Place.
When I worked in The
Grosvenor, sometimes we would go to the West End Hotel for a nightcap.
It was very old fashioned, like somebody's living room. Is it still
there?"

West End Hotel
"I have just looked at the West End Hotel
website and it looks operational to me
Perhaps this is not the original West End
Hotel as I seem to remember an hotel diagonally opposite to it owned by a
Frenchman, Monsieur Bouzy.
I kid you not. I
worked for him as a wine sales representative!"
