Duchauffoir & McIntyre

Duchauffoir & McIntyre were photographers based at 33 Whitfield Place   Leith, for ten years from 1855.

For the last five of these years, the company  also appears to have occupied 34 Whitfield Place.

To date I know of only two photographs by the company:

-  1855-60:  a cased ambrotype (below)

-  1860-65:  a carte de visite (here)

Several different spellings of the company's name, and variations of address have appeared in the trade directories.  See below.

The case of a Duchauffour & McIntyre ambrotype gave:

1860 Duchauffour & McIntyre 33 Whitfield place

 

The back of a carte de visite from A Lawrie, successors to Duchauffour & McIntyre in 1866 gave:

1860 Dauchaffour & McIntyre 31 Whitfield place

A Lawrie' business was subsequently listed in the Edinburgh & Leith trade directories as being at:

1866 Alexander Lawrie 30 Whitfield place
1867-70 Alexander Lawrie 29 Whitfield place
