Fourteen
years after the Hill & Adamson partnership ended, following the early
death of Robert Adamson, DO Hill entered into partnership with the
photographer Alexander McGlashan -
but this lasted only from 1861 to 1862.
Hill
& McGlashan exhibited 2 frames, each of
6 collodion photographs, at the 6th PSS Exhibition in 1861.
The
press wrote:
"The
portraits of Messrs Hill & McGlashan, besides being well composed are
very truthful and characteristic, .... are occasionally a little hard and
course" [The
Scotsman: 1 January 1862]After
the Hill & McGlashan partnership had ended, Alexander McGlashan
continued as a professional photographer, producing some memorable stereoscopic
views. |
