Richard
Arthur Rayner was born in Edinburgh on 30 June 1862.
At
the time of the 1881 Census, he was living at home with mother, three
sisters and two lodgers. His occupation was Bookseller's Apprentice.
He
appears in the Edinburgh trade directories from 1895 until 1914 with his
own business:
RA
Rayner
Stationer
and Fancy Goods Merchant
33
Earl Grey Street

There
was no further reference to RA Rayner's business in the Edinburgh trade
directories after the outbreak of the First World War, but RA Rayner
continued to be listed in the directories under his home address, which
changed several times, until 1941. |
