The Cover This 'Edinburgh' is the only one that I have in Valentine's Collotype View Books. I don't know how many others they published in the series. The second line on the cover reads : 'Miss Annie Lawrie, The Arcade' This was presumably the book seller. Did Valentine produce the same book but with other names in this position? |

The Contents book that I have in this series. I don't know how many The book is about 8ins x 6ins. It has 16 views, each about 6ins x 4 ins. (I was disappointed by the quality of these reproductions compared to some of the early views by Valentine that I have seen. At least some of the views appear to date from around the 1890s, including: - The Forth Rail Bridge. The bridge opened in 1890. - The East End of Princes Street before the North British Station Hotel was built around 1900 |
