Jungle City Exhibition

Dovecot Studios in Infirmary Street (formerly Infirmary Street Swimming Baths) was the base from which minor repairs were carried out to some of the sculptures on display for the Jungle City Exhibition.

Birds and animals in the Jungle City Exhibition were on display:

-  at the Royal Botanic Garden from August 16, 2011.

-  around the streets and gardens of Edinburgh from September 6, 2011.

Jungle Jam

At the end of the exhibition, many of the birds and animals came to the Dovecot Studios for a final farewell to Edinburgh.  They were on show there from September 28 until October 1, the day that  'Jungle Jam' was held there with the Jungle City band, 'Columboloco'.

Grand Auction

On September 29, 2011, a Grand Auction of the birds and animals was held at the National Museum of Scotland.  Many of the sculptures were on display in the museum on the day of the auction.

Dovecot Studios bought 'Orangutangle', the orangutan that had been made at their studios.  He will be on permanent dispaly at Dovecot Studios.
