Cabinet Prints

1, 2, 3 and 7 above all show the name of the previous photographer very prominently - Messrs Low.

At a casual glance it might appear that these photos were the work of Messrs Low, but the wording in fact says:

PHOTOGRAPHERS

and

MINIATURE PAINTERS

WOOD & CO

SUCCESSORS TO

Messrs Low

72 PRINCES STREET

EDINBURGH

4, 5 and 6 above all have blank backs and make no reference to Messrs Low.  Perhaps these were produced later (in the 1890s rather than the 1880s) by which time the previous business of Messrs Low might seem less relevant.
