I have not found any mention of Thomas Adamson in the old trade directories, so I don't know when he was in business as a professional photographer. However, here is one of his photographs - three well dressed young men. The back of this cabinet print is blank (dark brown). The style of the cabinet print and mount suggests to me that it may well have been produced some time around the 1890s. Many portraits of this period would have been photographed against a studio backdrop of an outdoor scene. However, I think this is probably a 'genuine' outdoor scene. |
